A village day, not a monument day
Sirince sits in the hills a short drive above Selcuk, and it is a change of register from the ancient sites: houses stacked on a slope, narrow lanes, vines and fruit trees, and a pace set by walking rather than by an itinerary. It suits guests who have already seen Ephesus, or who would rather spend their port call somewhere quieter.
The village's present-day appearance owes a great deal to the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in the 1920s, which changed who lived here and how the houses were used. Your guide will explain that history plainly, without romanticising it.
What you will see on foot
The walk takes in the older lanes, the surviving Orthodox-era church building on the upper slope, and the village's produce stalls, where local fruit wines, olive oil and preserves are sold. Buying anything is entirely optional and no stall is part of the itinerary.
Because the village is built on a hillside, the walking involves gradients and uneven stone underfoot. It is not strenuous, but it is not flat either.
Lunch in the village
A village lunch is the natural centre of this day and we build time for it into the plan. Whether the meal itself is included in your quote depends on the option you choose; like every meal in our programme it is excluded by default and priced only if you add it.
How the day is planned

Your guide meets you at the pier and you drive up through Selcuk towards the hills.

The older lanes, the church building on the upper slope and the viewpoints across the valley, at an unhurried pace.
Village produce, if you want it

Optional — included only if you add it, and confirmed for your date.
Village lunch
A sit-down meal in the village. Included only if you add it to your booking.
Optional — included only if you add it, and confirmed for your date.
Return to your ship
Back down to the port with time in hand against your all-aboard time.
This is a short day by design. If you want to attach a shortened Ephesus visit to it, ask us and we will tell you whether your port window allows it.
Pacing, walking and comfort
Expect roughly a short drive each way and a couple of hours on foot, mostly on sloping cobbled lanes. There is shade in the village but the open sections are exposed.
This is one of the two gentlest days we operate and is often the right answer for a party with mixed walking appetite.

Cruise timing and the Back-to-Ship Guarantee
The short drive makes this one of the safest days to run against a tight port call, and it is frequently what we recommend when a ship is in port for only part of the day.
As with every Mr Ephesus tour, the plan is built around your confirmed docking and all-aboard times, with a return buffer, and is re-planned if the ship's schedule changes.
What we confirm in writing before you decide
- Whether lunch is included in your quote
- Whether a shortened Ephesus visit fits your confirmed port window
- The vehicle and guide assignment for your party size
- The total price for your group and the payment terms
Anything not listed above as verified is shown as “Confirmed in writing before you decide.” on this page rather than guessed at.

Questions about Sirince Village Cultural Heritage
A couple of hours on sloping cobbled lanes, taken slowly and with stops. There are gradients and uneven stone, so tell us in advance if anyone in your party needs a shorter route.
Sometimes. It depends on your confirmed docking and all-aboard times. Send them to us and we will tell you whether a shortened Ephesus visit genuinely fits, or whether it would rush both halves.
No. Nothing in the village is a required stop, nothing is preselected, and you are never taken anywhere on the understanding that you will buy something.
